Currrent Position

Mr. Chase is the chairman and chief executive officer of ChaseCom Limited Partnership. Chase Telecommunications Holdings, Inc., Chase Radio Partners, L.L.C. and Faith Broadcasting Corporation. ChaseCom is a sales and marketing firm that provides telecommunications products and services to small and mid-sized businesses and to ethnic minorities in underserved communities. Mr. Chase is also chairman of the board of The Telecom Opportunity Institute, a national, non-profit organization founded by ChaseCom to increase career, education and job training opportunities in the telecommunications industry for people in historically underserved communities.

Professional History

Since 1996, Mr. Chase has been chairman and CEO of Chase Telecommunications, Inc., a facilities-based wireless service provider operating in the state of Tennessee that in December 1998 agreed to be acquired by Leap Wireless International (NASDAQ). Mr. Chase is also chairman and CEO of Faith Broadcasting Corporation, the sole general partner of Faith Broadcasting, L.P. Since 1990 Mr. Chase has been an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Houston Law Center (currently on leave).

Mr. Chase sits on the Boards of the Cornell Companies (NYSE), Leap Wireless International, the Houston Public Television, the Northern Trust Bank of Texas and the Houston Zoological Society. Mr. Chase is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the Board of Directors for the Minority Media & Telecommunications Council in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Chase received a B.A. with honors from Harvard University in 1977, an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1981. His numerous awards include 2001 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Businessman of the Year 2000 Award conferred by the Business and Professional Men’s Club, the 1999 Lamont Godwin National Achievement Award from the Rainbow Push Coalition, Outstanding Young Businessman Award from Texas Business Magazine, the 1999 Bank One Pinnacle Award, the 1998 African American Heritage Award and the Williston Prize in Contract Law from Harvard Law School and the Endicott Saltonstall Award from Harvard University.
